About Me

My photo
I am a full-time mama with a passion for writing and talking to fascinating people. I live in a one horse town with a Cowboy and my son. Thank Lord for cyberspace! I lived a colourful life in Sydney for a number of years. Working in advertising and journalism for FPC and the Sydney Morning Herald. During my time in Sydney I competed in a Dragon Boat race, choreographed a dragshow, used the Share Accomodation advertisements as a way to meet men and was told by Noiseworks frontrunner Jon Stevens that I was a bitch! Then came the decision to move back to country for 3 months to help out my Father with newspaper business while he was having treatment. Convinced I was a city girl I was caught by surprise when I fell in love with a farmer (and no, he didn't want a wife... still doesn't it seems!) convinced him that we needed to see the world, popped off to Vietnam to teach english in Saigon - before realising that the "food" in Nam didn't agree with me... turned out to be Monte - my son who is now with the Cowboy and I back in country NSW! I am in a wonderful stage of my life where I am focusing on the things that really make me tick. Including writing these chronicles.

I'm either clucky or quackin' up

Hello again - another blog post in a day, ( oh yes, for you Alex, so you don't have to watch B&B reruns)

Felt like writing some more today in honor of new blogs I have discovered and new followers.

Please take the time to get acquainted with these people, and tell them I sent you... :-)

The Duck Herder - well hello there - I am considering getting ducks now.
Love this blog, its a different lifestyle.
Different is good.
Thousands of mama blogs... throw a duck herder into the mix and you've got sunshine..!
Well strike me down, I just had a peek over at her blog right now, mid sentence,  and she is showcasing some new ducklings. They have to be seen to be believed!!

Caitlyn Nicholas - stole this blog off somebody elses blogroll, had a squiz at this romance writer's work, gained a laugh. Sometimes the quest to find  good blogs is this simple. Well usually actually. I liked Caitlyn's anti-resolutions and another one about learning from chickens

Important Reality Check on Self: Why am I suddenly attracted to blogs that cover ducks and chooks? Maybe it is time to return to the city??! haha

Refreshingly unrelated to anything feathered is:

Christa in New York  - Ok I have been following Christa since day dot of blogging (august was day dot) and I really admire her.
She is a do-er, she writes intelligently and inspiringly.
Her 2010 bloggy quest is writing and living 365 steps to an extrordinary life. This gal has heart, brain and soul. Worth checking out.
I interviewed Christa about  NY when I first started blogging when I had zero readers , she played along - and has offered to be my tour guide should we make it to NYC.... God love her.

Another one who makes little mention of poultry or ducks but sometimes uses fowl Language (sorry ! )  is Karly from Karlosophies. I really enjoy her honest, witty, sometimes bordering on shocking remarks!  She is doing great guns with mosaics, she is a sister of the Kayak - runs her own voice over business - she is raw, rude and pretty funny! I like her. Check her out!!!

Acting the Maggot - written by a gal I knew in Sydney. She told me I inspired her to start a blog... awww that makes me happy - and let me tell you - she was born to blog. A fabulous, witty writer - she's an irish lass with some kids, one on the way - a giant husband .... do stop by

and finally,

Just putting it out there  often inspires, or makes you laugh. Her latest letter to future fiance/ boyfriend is quite very entrepreneurial. If that is a word!

So of course all those to the right are my faves and some I need to add a couple on there including Mummy Time and Do I really wanna blog who I read regularly. Brenda from Mummy Time is a snappy writer..... snappy, funny... like her... and the crowds do too... I did notice her followers increase faster than a speeding bullet, just quietly!
And Do I really wanna blog - Thea is funny, insightful and honest - like it, like it.

Check them out - and tell me some to check out too if you would be so kind.

  1. Awww...thanks girlie! And backatcha.

The influx of followers came about because Blogger chose my little blog as a "Blog of Note" a while ago. So yay me! And no, I didn't use bribery. Ahem.
